Privacy & limits

Is my file uploaded?

No. The archive is read and a new Zip is built only in this browser tab on your device. Nothing is sent to LeetTools servers.

Why can it be slow or fail?

The tool fully unpacks the archive in memory, then repacks it as Zip. Large archives or weak devices can run out of memory or take a long time. For very large jobs, use 7-Zip or your OS archiver on the desktop.

Formats & passwords

Which input formats work?

Anything our Archive Extractor can open (for example RAR, 7z, Tar, Zip, common Gzip/Bzip2/XZ inside tarballs, and more). The output is always a standard .zip.

Passwords

Two different passwords: (1) Archive password — only if your input file is encrypted; use Apply after typing it, same idea as Archive Extractor. (2) New Zip password (optional) — protects the downloaded Zip with the same AES encryption as Zip Creator (UTF-8 passphrase). Leave blank for a normal Zip. Use Archive Extractor on this site or 7-Zip if the OS built-in tool will not open it. Leading/trailing spaces are ignored. They are independent.

Using this tool

Steps

Choose your archive, set Archive password if needed, optionally set New Zip password for an encrypted download, confirm the output file name, then Convert & download .zip. Common OS metadata junk such as __MACOSX, ._*, and .DS_Store is skipped. To build a Zip from loose files instead, use Zip Creator.
