Is my file uploaded to the internet?

No. You pick a file on your computer; it is opened and unpacked only in this browser tab on your device. LeetTools does not receive your archive or extracted files for processing.

Why is there sometimes no password box?

When the archive is treated as plain (not encrypted), you will not see a password field—nothing extra to enter. If the tool thinks a password may be needed, or it is unsure, the box appears next to the file name so you can type it and click Apply to reload the list.

What if I have a password but it still fails?

Double-check the password and click Apply again. Leading/trailing spaces are ignored here. Browser-based tools cannot match every archive variant. If it still will not open, use 7-Zip, WinRAR, The Unarchiver, or your OS built-in extractor, then come back here if you still need a quick preview in the browser.

Formats & Limits

Which archive types are supported?

Many common types work, including Zip, 7z, RAR, Tar, and common compression inside archives (Gzip, Bzip2, XZ), plus ISO, CAB, and others. Rare or brand-new formats may not open—try the same file in a desktop archiver.

Very large archives

Heavy work runs in your browser, so memory and speed depend on your device and tab. Multi‑gigabyte archives or tens of thousands of files can be slow or hit limits. For huge jobs, a desktop app on your machine is usually more reliable.

Using this tool

How do I get files out?

After opening an archive you see a searchable list. OS metadata junk such as __MACOSX, ._*, and .DS_Store is hidden. Use the download icon on a row to save one file, or tick several files and use Download selected to save them to your usual downloads folder (nested paths are turned into safe file names automatically). Need one clean .zip output instead? Use Archive to Zip.
